Must Have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or similar science/Engineering required;
  • Minimum 4-5 years of quality/manufacturing experience in a food production environment is required;
  • Prior experience managing and/or supporting Customer audit and Regulatory Audits (FDA/USDA);
  • Knowledge and experience with quality management systems, SSOPs, Environmental hygiene programs, prerequisite programs and HACCP;
  • Knowledge of relevant GFSI standards;
  • Knowledge and understanding of Food Safety regulations, FSMA and industry and market trends is desired;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain procedures which assure product and service quality;
  • Maintain and update product specifications including customer specifications and raw material specifications to reflect any changes or product use requirements;
  • Ensure finished product and raw materials are tested per company specification;
  • Communicate and enforce company standards in the areas of ingredient and product standards, process specifications, formula compliance, and regulatory compliance;
  • Update and support food safety programs and food safety systems: HACCP, sanitation, and environmental monitoring program;
  • Support the plant Food Safety & Quality System to produce safe quality food, acting as SQF Practitioner or equivalent GFSI manager (BRC, FS22000).
  • Participate in quality complaint investigations. Verify corrective action completion and continued conformance;
  • Perform and/or participate in internal audits;
  • Develop and lead the plant Quality Improvement Program;
